# 🚀 _Updates on Grant Application Process_ - New Path to Building

_June 2025_  
Hey builders! As RootstockCollective grows and more amazing projects join our ecosystem, we’re always tweaking our processes to make things smoother for everyone. This updated framework is all about helping you get the funding you need while keeping our community standards rock-solid. Let’s build the future of Bitcoin together! 🛠

## **📋 How to Apply for a Grant**

### **🔐 Step 1: Complete KYB Requirements**

- **Submit KYB Application** : Fill out the [KYB Google Form](https://forms.gle/vGjLmzUwHGyGbt878) and sign the agreement. This will trigger an email with instructions for Step 2.
- **Persona Verification** : Complete Persona verification (off-chain KYC provider) with entity and project info.

### **💬 Step 2: Create Your Off-Chain Proposal (Discourse, yes here!)**

Post your grant proposal on Discourse using this structure:

**📝 Title Format:** `[YYMM Grant] Project Name - Milestone 1`

**🎯 Mandatory Information:**

- **Project Name & Description**
- **Team Background**
- **Total Grant Amount** ($X total; requesting $Y for Milestone 1)
- **Milestone 1 Deliverables** (clear KPIs)
- **Milestone 2 & 3** (same format)
- **Timeline**
- **Technical Specs**
- **Value Prop for Rootstock**
- **Demo and GitHub repo**
- **Video Pitch** : Can be in any Social Media format (Youtube, X, etc).

### **⛓ Step 3: Submit Your On-Chain Proposal**

After KYB is approved and community discussion has occurred:

1. 🌐 Go to the [RootstockCollective dApp](https://app.rootstockcollective.xyz/)
2. 🔒 Stake at least **1,000 stRIF**
3. 📤 Submit an **on-chain proposal** requesting only the _first tranche_
4. 🔗 Include a link to your Discourse proposal
5. 🗳 Proposal enters voting

## **🔄 How Do I unblock the next tranche of my Grant?**

**After you have achieved your milestone,** you can unlock your next tranche!

- Submit a **new** on-chain proposal
- Show **proof** of milestone completion (code, deployments, metrics)
- Define **next**  **deliverables** + update timeline if needed
- **Link previous Grant proposal for reference**

- Must align with Rootstock ecosystem goals
- KYB & KYC must be completed
- Must hold & stake 1,000 stRIF
- Milestones must be clear and measurable
- Community engagement is expected
