Description: UniFi is a protocol aggregator and mobile wallet built on Rootstock, offering a simple and accessible entry into the DeFi world for Bitcoin users. It streamlines interactions with various Rootstock protocols, allowing users to send and receive tokens, perform optimized swaps, and earn interest on deposits. UniFi has benefited Rootstock by providing a user-friendly platform that bridges the gap between centralized exchanges and decentralized finance, promoting the use of Bitcoin in a secure and accessible manner.
Mission: UniFi’s mission is to break down the barriers to decentralized finance, making Bitcoin and Rootstock accessible to a broader audience. By simplifying the complexities of DeFi and integrating key Rootstock protocols into a single app, UniFi aims to empower users to gain financial sovereignty and autonomy. The solution provides a secure, user-friendly experience that helps users transition from centralized exchanges to the decentralized world of Rootstock.
Product: UniFi is a web3 application that works as a mobile-first, Progressive Web App (PWA). It integrates various Rootstock protocols, including Money on Chain for stablecoin swaps, Tropykus for interest-earning deposits, and Sovryn for efficient token swaps. UniFi eliminates the need for users to manage private keys traditionally, utilizing Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology to enhance security. It offers features like social login, sending and receiving tokens, optimized swaps, and easy onboarding from USDT on BSC to Rootstock using Symbiosis on the backend.
Team: I am Matías Goya, the sole founder of UniFi, with extensive experience in blockchain and decentralized finance. As a professor of blockchain at the Institute of Technology in Buenos Aires (ITBA), I’ve trained over 250 students in blockchain technology. My professional background includes working with industry leaders like Visa and MasterCard, providing research and insights on blockchain and alternative finance. At JP Morgan, I managed operational risks and led educational initiatives on Bitcoin and DeFi, reaching over 3,000 employees. This combination of teaching and hands-on industry experience uniquely positions me to simplify DeFi access through UniFi.
Progress:
- Integrated UniFi with key Rootstock protocols: Money on Chain (MoC), Sovryn (SOV), Tropykus, and on-ramp service Symbiosis.
- Launched the MVP on-chain, enabling easy onboarding with just an email or social media account.
- Attracted 200 users within the first 24 hours due to streamlined onboarding.
- Participated in various industry podcasts and live panels to promote UniFi and its mission to make DeFi more accessible.
Roadmap:
- RNS Integration: Implement Rootstock Naming Service (RNS) for simplified wallet addresses.
- Layer 2 Enhancements: Improve transaction times using the RIF Layer 2 solution.
- Gasless Transactions: Introduce gasless transactions, allowing users to pay fees with an ERC-20 token for an even smoother experience.
- Ongoing Development: We will continuously iterate based on feedback from users and the evolving landscape of future dApps integrating with Rootstock, adding new functionalities to make interactions even more seamless and intuitive.
Conclusion: UniFi bridges the gap between centralized exchanges and DeFi on Rootstock, offering a simple and secure way for users to gain financial autonomy. By removing technical barriers and providing a curated, user-friendly environment, UniFi opens up decentralized finance to everyone, not just the technically skilled. Seamless integration with top Rootstock protocols and an intuitive interface make UniFi a game-changer, championing a future where financial sovereignty is accessible to all.
