[2412 BIG Wave 4] Trebek!
Description:
Trebek! gives players an answer and players must find a prompt to feed into an AI that will give the same answer. The first prompt to yield the exact answer (checked by hash) wins points for that section.
Identical to Jeopardy, the game has a board of categories with increasing complexity as columns descend. The main value is entertainment with a secondary value of education around how to get precise results from AI models.
The game sessions are designed like the game show and we will stream the games for audiences to watch. The audience should see the prompts of contestants being written in real-time while they work and the llm outputs. There will also be an interactive chat feature (between rounds) so the audience can troll players and/or the system.
Multiple games can happen simultaneously, as long as the game has a paid sponsor and 3 ready players.
Example, game format, and rules
Answer given: Elon Musk /
Correct prompt: who is the CEO of Tesla? Name only
Final round will give a new topic, then contestants wager an amount of points they have, then the answer is given. They have 60 seconds to get the prompt.
- 3 rounds (2 normal and a final round)
- 3 contestants per game
- Money for winning contestants comes from sponsors
Rules:
- System prompt is public. Models are private/random
- No text manipulation to derive answer
- No mathematical manipulation
- Audience votes on any split judgement

Product: As a consumer application, the main feature for Rootstock is to power a fun, social, and hopefully viral game that will onboard new people into the ecosystem through Rootstock.
Team: Mark, Bart, Dylan, Eric, Elon, and Arvino
Traction: Was able to submit on-time to the hackathon and successfully received staking back from Kartik and team. Woo.
Roadmap:
Phase 1 - Finish frontend work, see WIP linked above. (Jan 25)
Phase 2 - Create game server to allow sponsors and players to interact with the test system (Feb 25)
Phase 3 - Connect payments for companies to sponsor games and players to receive payouts. First on testnet then mains (Mar/Apr 25)
Phase 4 - Security and preventing users from gaming the system (May 25 - Ongoing)
Conclusion:
Trebek! is a fun consumer app. There’s nothing fundamentally crypto about it, except transparent pay-ins and payouts but we hope to onboard a larger section of non-crypto internet denizens through entertainment and education around prompt engineering.
