In light of Tamara Lerner’s announced departure from the Rootstock Collective, how will this proposal be adapted? Will another member of the team be designated to attend in her place? If so, we would be interested to know who will be attending and whether that person speaks Spanish. Thanks.
Hi! LABITCONF is in my city, and I agree it’s the right place for Rootstock to be. I like that the main KPI is stakers still staking at 90 days, not people passing by the booth.
Other delegates already asked about the 75% upfront and the guidelines, so I’ll focus on the user side.
First, one thing I didn’t fully understand. The proposal says each new staker gets 20 RIF plus gas to stake on the spot, but it also says incentives are paid only against verified 90-day retained stakes. Is the RIF given on the day and the 90 days just measured, or is the reward released at 90 days? If it’s given on the day, someone could stake, unstake a few days later and keep it. A small part of the reward unlocked at 90 days could help filter airdrop hunters.
Second, the hardest step for a new user isn’t staking, it’s what comes after. Most people at LABITCONF have their crypto on an exchange. Once they leave the Hub, how do they get more RBTC? With Boltz paused, small amounts are hard to move in, and the PowPeg has a minimum. I’d add a simple page to the quickstart kit: how to get RBTC from Argentina, which exchanges send it directly to Rootstock, and which dApps to try first. MoC and RIF On Chain could be a good first stop.
Third, a short follow-up a week later (Telegram or email, in Spanish) showing what their stake already voted for. That’s what turns a staker into a member.
If it goes on-chain with these points clear, it has my support.
Hi everyone,
A quick update on the Labitconf builder community proposal. After considering the feedback here and have further discussion internally, we’ve decided not to take this to a vote and are withdrawing the proposal.
Rather than asking the Collective for funding, we’ll be self-funding a smaller-scale presence at Labitconf (Buenos Aires, 30-31 October). The goal is unchanged: give Rootstock builders a place to showcase their projects and connect directly with the people attending.
Thank you to everyone who read the proposal and shared feedback. It sharpened how we think about growth-focused community activations, and we’ll bring that learning into how we run this.
We’ll share a recap after the event, including what the builders achieved and what we learned! We hope to see you all at the event.
