RootstockCollective, the decentralized community powering innovation on Bitcoin via Rootstock, has integrated Reown AppKit to significantly expand wallet compatibility and onboard a broader wave of participants into the DAO.
This partnership unlocks new possibilities for user participation, reduces friction, and reinforces the Collective’s mission of decentralizing Rootstock and unlocking Bitcoin’s full potential. The use of Reown AppKit powers wallet connectivity, giving users the choice to login to the RootstockCollection dApp using MetaMask, SafePal, Bitget Wallet, SubWallet, Wigwam and Rabby.
Previously limited to MetaMask and Rabby, the Collective’s DApp is now accessible to users across multiple wallet ecosystems, lowering the technical barrier to DAO onboarding and engagement.
Breaking down barriers to participation
The world of decentralized governance has often been gated by wallet compatibility. With this integration, RootstockCollective is actively removing those barriers, creating a more inclusive experience for builders, backers, and token holders around the world.
“Wallet access is DAO access,” said Eleanor Gaywood, Ecosystem Director at RootstockCollective. “For Bitcoin to reach its full potential as a programmable, user-driven financial layer, it has to be accessible. This integration means even more participants can join the Collective with the wallet they already use to start voting, and building and earning rewards.”
The integration was made possible through Reown’s AppKit, a full-stack UX toolkit for onchain applications. With 18.5K active projects and 4 million weekly connections, AppKit powers login, embedded wallet access, and bridging in a way that’s secure and intuitive, especially for users less familiar with traditional wallet setups.
Derek Rein, CTO at Reown commented ““AppKit SDK gives developers a faster way to support more wallets without rebuilding flows from scratch. By integrating with RootstockCollective, we’re making it easier for users to show up, connect, and participate. This latest integration is an important moment for Bitcoin UX, especially as we see the number of developers building on Bitcoin continue to rise”.
The first step in a bigger roadmap
This integration marks just the beginning of the collaboration between Reown and RootstockCollective. In the coming months, the Collective plans to make connecting even easier through features like social login with MagicLink, enabling users who may be less familiar with onchain wallet setups to participate seamlessly in DAO governance, staking, and community engagement.
“User experience remains one of the biggest blockers in Web3,” said Eleanor. “Across the industry, we talk a lot about onboarding the next billion users to crypto, but that starts with making onboarding and usability easy. Accessibility isn’t a nice-to-have, it’s the baseline. That’s why we’re already working on more improvements to make interacting with RootstockCollective as intuitive as possible.”
With these improvements on the roadmap, including embedded bridging, additional wallets, and simplified onboarding RootstockCollective is evolving into the most accessible and user-friendly DAO in the Bitcoin ecosystem, combining Bitcoin’s security with Ethereum-style composability and a truly community-led approach to growth.
Accessible, open, and built to last
RootstockCollective exists to support builders, decentralize governance, and scale Bitcoin beyond the mining era. With over $120K in Collective Rewards distributed since November and an expanding community of DAO participants, it is becoming the home of Bitcoin-powered innovation.
More users can now connect to app.rootstockcollective.xyz, vote on proposals, back their favorite builders and shape the future of Bitcoin.
