[2508 Grant] Infrastructure VenturesPath to Ecosystem Growth

Hi @Kaf_Anode ,

Thank you for the detailed review and for acknowledging the completion of Milestone 2. We appreciate the structured feedback.

To address your points and provide a look at what’s coming next:

  • Documentation Progress: We are currently finalizing the complete documentation for all companies. Our goal is to ensure the same level of transparency you saw with Blockroll is applied across the board. We agree that the “lite” summaries (mentorship, treasury, and feasibility) are a great way to strengthen the portfolio view, and we’re working to make those available shortly.

  • Primary Candidates & TVL: As we move toward our final TVL goals and ecosystem engagement, we are looking closely at Cyclo and Caddy Finance. These two companies are expected to be the primary drivers in helping us achieve those targets.

  • Deployment Timeline: Regarding mainnet deployments, the process is moving forward steadily. As noted on the dashboard, we are currently targeting an late February or March.

We’re excited to keep this pace up and will continue to share these updates as the companies hit their next technical strides.

Hi @Axia, we’ve added Peach Bitcoin and Caddy Finance PRDs, and we’ll keep updating/sharing documentation as we progress.

Hi @Francisco

I’ve reviewed the documentation and appreciate the level of detail provided for M1 and M2 — it’s a testament to the effort and coordination required to reach the 6-month goal of 2–4 projects reaching ≥$500K combined TVL and the RIF ecosystem metrics.

One small suggestion for consideration: since the M2 dashboard is already set up, would it be possible to add columns to track completion status of Treasury Strategy Development and Technical Feasibility Validation? Having those visible in the dashboard could make M2 tracking more straightforward and reduce the need to check the Evaluation Documents Folder and then each individual project folder for document updates within the Deliverables Folder.

Also, when you have a moment, could you please review the LOI for Cyclo One? It appears to be unsigned.

Thanks again for the continued transparency and thorough updates.

We have voted in favor of the Milestone 3 proposal, as the overall direction of the program appears constructive.

However, we were disappointed to see the M3 proposal submitted onchain before we could review the full set of Milestone 2 deliverables.

Prior to submission, only Blockroll’s documentation was shared. Artifacts for the other three projects were not provided, which limited our ability to assess M2 execution.

Also, while PRDs for Peach and Caddy were provided per @Axia’s request, we do not consider PRDs alone to be “validation” unless they are explicitly framed as such and backed by the promised evidence.

Please share the remaining Milestone 2 materials at your earliest convenience in addition to the requested items from @DAOstar_gov.

[Introduction] Boosting Bitcoin DeFi: Welcoming Caddy, Cyclo, Blockroll, and Peach Bitcoin to Rootstock

Hello Community,

As part of our ongoing commitment to expanding the Rootstock DeFi and payment ecosystem, we are thrilled to formally introduce four high-impact projects that have recently joined our pipeline. These builders bring diverse use cases, from institutional BTC yield to P2P marketplaces and African fintech, all secured by the power of Bitcoin.

Here is a brief overview of these new members:

  1. Caddy Finance

  • Core Use Case: Caddy builds institutional-grade Bitcoin yield vaults. They aggregate BTC and deploy it into structured RWA (Real World Asset) and DeFi strategies.
  • Value to Rootstock: Caddy brings significant institutional liquidity. With a current mandate of over $100M, they aim to boost Rootstock’s TVL by deploying BTC-native vaults on our sidechain.
  • Status: Currently live on Testnet.
  • X: caddyficaddyfi
  1. Cyclo

  • Core Use Case: A non-custodial, liquidation-free leverage protocol. Users can mint “cyTokens” against collateral (like rBTC) to gain leverage exposure without the risk of forced liquidations by bots.
  • Value to Rootstock: Cyclo provides a unique DeFi primitive that differentiates Rootstock from traditional money markets, driving trading volume and offering rBTC holders a safer way to utilize their assets.
  • Status: In the process of expanding from Flare/Arbitrum to Rootstock.
  • X: cyclofinance
  1. Blockroll

  • Core Use Case: A stablecoin-powered banking and payroll platform designed for African freelancers and SMEs.
  • Value to Rootstock: Blockroll is seeking a Bitcoin-secured treasury layer. By integrating Rootstock, they will use our network as the settlement and savings backend for cross-border payments across Africa, showcasing Rootstock’s real-world utility in emerging markets.
  • Status: Integrating Rootstock for their upcoming B2B treasury produc@BlockrollApp.
  • X: BlockrollApp
  1. Peach Bitcoin

  • Core Use Case: A leading non-KYC, P2P marketplace for buying and selling Bitcoin.
  • Value to Rootstock: Peach has integrated Rootstock (DoC and USDT) as a primary payment rail. This allows users to buy/sell BTC directly using Bitcoin-backed stables, turning Peach into a critical, privacy-focused gateway for the Rootstock ecosystem.
  • Status: Live on Mainnet. Users can already select Rootstock-based assets as a p@peachbitcoinyment method.
  • X: peachbitcoin

Next Steps:

We are working closely with these teams to ensure successful deployments and community alignment. You will see more updates as they hit their respective milestones. We invite the community to check out their websites and follow their progress as we build the most robust DeFi layer on Bitcoin.

Hi @Tane , Rootstock is available on Caddy website https://testnet.caddy.finance/ but vault doesn’t work here since the protocols that they work with do not have proper testnet contracts. This is a good way to show that they are going live on mainnet.

Rootstock Milestone 3 Ecosystem Progress Update

1. Overview

Milestone 3 focused on helping supported projects move from advisory and integration stages into live deployment and early ecosystem activation on Rootstock.

The main areas of work during this phase included:

  • Mainnet deployment coordination

  • Infrastructure and protocol integrations

  • Deployment readiness support

  • Initial on-chain activation

  • Rollout preparation

During this milestone, two supported projects completed Rootstock mainnet deployment:

  • Superstake

  • Peach Bitcoin

Additional projects continued progressing through integration, deployment preparation, and ecosystem coordination.

This phase marked an important step in moving active pipeline projects into live Rootstock participation.

2. Deployment Updates

Superstake: On-Chain Gaming Infrastructure

Superstake is an on-chain gaming infrastructure platform that enables creators and communities to launch interactive, chance-based games.

During this milestone, the team deployed its first Rootstock mainnet contract (CashOrCrash) and launched the initial Rootstock version of the product.

Current Status

  • Mainnet deployment completed

  • Initial product version live

  • Early transaction activity verified on-chain

  • Additional rollout and ecosystem integrations in progress

Product: https://www.superstake.fun/rootstock

Contract: https://rootstock.blockscout.com/address/0xba99E88063Bf8b92503F8883afdae6948D2a6b88

Current On-Chain Activity (First 10 days)

  • 11 transactions

  • 3 unique wallets

  • $1,031.77 transaction volume

  • Gas used 2,005,704

Current activity remains early-stage, but the deployment establishes the foundation for broader rollout, creator onboarding, and repeat transaction activity as the platform expands.

The next phase will focus more heavily on user onboarding, creator-facing features, ecosystem integrations, and transaction growth.

The deployment also introduces an early consumer-facing gaming use case on Rootstock, supporting more frequent on-chain interaction and community-driven participation.

Peach Bitcoin: Payment Infrastructure Integration

Peach Bitcoin operates primarily through an application-layer payment flow, where a significant portion of end-user activity occurs off-chain before settlement.

During this milestone, Peach Bitcoin completed its Rootstock integration and deployed the relevant on-chain settlement infrastructure required for rollout.

Current Status

  • Rootstock integration completed

  • Settlement infrastructure deployed

  • Mainnet components verified live

  • Additional integration work ongoing

Because of the structure of the product, early on-chain metrics alone do not fully represent platform usage at this stage.

Current integration value includes:

  • Rootstock settlement layer usage

  • payment infrastructure expansion

  • future transaction routing potential

  • broader payment utility on Rootstock

  • long-term transaction enablement

As rollout expands, additional transaction activity and ecosystem usage are expected to become more visible through continued integration and platform growth.

3. Ecosystem Impact & Measurement

This milestone primarily focused on converting supported projects into live Rootstock deployments and operational integrations.

Several supported projects during this phase fall into infrastructure, payment, and consumer application categories, where ecosystem value develops progressively through deployment, activation, and product rollout rather than immediate TVL growth alone.

The current deployment phase established the operational foundation for:

  • future transaction activity

  • ecosystem integrations

  • user onboarding

  • recurring product usage

  • broader Rootstock participation

As projects continue rolling out additional features and integrations, future milestones are expected to place greater emphasis on measurable growth indicators such as:

  • transaction activity

  • user participation

  • integration adoption

  • TVL growth where applicable

  • recurring on-chain usage

4. Pipeline Progress

A key objective of Milestone 3 was progressing active pipeline projects toward live deployment and ecosystem activation.

Projects progressing through the pipeline included:

  • Peach Bitcoin

  • Cyclo

  • Caddy Finance

  • Superstake

  • Tipper

Successfully deployed during M3:

  • Superstake

  • Peach Bitcoin

Additional projects remain in different stages of:

  • deployment preparation

  • infrastructure integration

  • technical validation

  • ecosystem coordination

  • deployment confirmation

The current pipeline remains focused on projects capable of contributing long-term ecosystem value through infrastructure growth, transaction activity, onboarding improvements, and sustained Rootstock usage.

5. Support&Advisory Work

Support during this milestone focused on helping projects move from preparation stages into live deployment and operational integration on Rootstock.

Areas of work included:

  • technical deployment coordination

  • infrastructure integration support

  • deployment troubleshooting

  • mainnet readiness support

  • product advisory

  • rollout preparation

  • ecosystem coordination

Total support delivered during the milestone:

  • Technical advisory: 45.95 hours

  • Mentorship & strategy support: 8.55 hours

Support efforts during this phase were focused primarily on deployment execution, integration progress, and activation readiness across supported projects.

6. Current Status

Both deployed projects remain in relatively early rollout stages.

At this phase, the primary focus has been:

  • completing deployment

  • validating live integrations

  • supporting initial rollout

  • enabling early transaction activity

  • preparing for broader ecosystem usage

Broader growth metrics such as higher transaction volume, expanded user participation, recurring activity, and TVL growth are expected to develop further as projects continue expanding functionality and rollout efforts.

7. Next Phase

With deployment work completed during this milestone, the next phase will focus more heavily on:

  • GTM execution

  • user onboarding

  • ecosystem adoption

  • transaction activity growth

  • deployment-to-usage conversion

  • TVL expansion across applicable projects

  • additional Rootstock mainnet deployments

The next stage will also focus on helping supported teams scale product usage, expand integrations, and strengthen measurable ecosystem participation across Rootstock.

We appreciate the continued feedback and support from the Rootstock community as these projects continue progressing through rollout and growth stages.

One thing we started thinking about more while updating this milestone under the new V3.2 framework is how infra, payment-type integrations should be evaluated during early rollout phases.
For projects like payment rails or settlement infrastructure, early on-chain activity alone usually doesn’t tell the full story yet.
A lot of the value tends to develop more gradually through things like:

  • settlement layer usage
  • transaction routing
  • infra adoption
  • recurring payment flows
  • downstream integrations

especially once rollout expands further.
Overall, we think the shift toward more measurable ecosystem impact is a good direction. At the same time, it’ll probably be important to keep refining how infra and application-layer projects are evaluated alongside more TVL-driven protocols.
We also agree that deployment itself shouldn’t be treated as the end goal. The more important part is whether deployments actually convert into sustained usage and ongoing ecosystem participation over time.
We’re curious to hear others’ thoughts as more infra- and payment-oriented projects begin operating under the updated framework. Thank you!
