[2509 RootstockCollective Ambassador Proposal] Searching for Collective Ambassadors

Executive Summary

This proposal seeks to expand the RootstockCollective Ambassador Program by appointing three regional ambassadors based in Japan, the UAE, and Hong Kong or Singapore. Their primary mission will be to amplify RootstockCollective’s visibility through promotional activities such as hosting local meetups, running social media campaigns, and representing the DAO at regional events. Unlike previous cohorts, these ambassadors will focus exclusively on outreach and promotion, not community moderation or educational content. Compensation will remain 1,000 USDRIF/month per ambassador, managed through the RootstockCollective Foundation on behalf of the DAO.

Problem Statement

RootstockCollective lacks direct presence and visibility in key innovation hubs across Asia and the Middle East. These regions are home to vibrant crypto communities and strong Bitcoin/DeFi adoption potential, yet the DAO has no structured ambassadors operating locally. Without targeted presence, the DAO misses out on building trust, relevance, and connections in these strategic markets.

Proposed Solution/Action

This proposal introduces three regionally focused ambassadors who will:

  • Organize and host at least one in-person meetup per month in their city (Tokyo, Dubai/Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong or Singapore).

  • Lead or co-host at least one X Space or online promotional event per month.

  • Create a minimum of four social media posts per month (in English and/or local language) aligned with DAO priorities.

  • Represent RootstockCollective at regional crypto events when possible.

The RootstockCollective Foundation will:

  • Appoint and oversee the three ambassadors.

  • Validate deliverables (meetup reports, social posts, X Spaces).

  • Disburse the monthly salary.

Justification and Benefits

  • Expands DAO visibility into strategic regions with active crypto adoption.

  • Builds localized trust and grassroots presence.

  • Focused promotional scope ensures clear, measurable deliverables.

  • Leverages ambassadors as “DAO faces” at regional events and meetups.

Expected Results

  • Establish a consistent RootstockCollective presence in Japan, UAE, and Hong Kong or Singapore through monthly meetups and event participation.

  • Increase visibility of RootstockCollective across social media platforms, measured by engagement and reach.

  • Strengthen grassroots connections with local crypto communities, fostering trust and awareness of Rootstock and its ecosystem.

  • Generate a pipeline of regional partnerships and collaborations through ambassador networking.

  • Provide measurable promotional impact through transparent reporting of events, posts, and community interactions.

Measurable Results

  • Meetups: Minimum of 1 per month per ambassador, tracked by attendance numbers, photos, and event summaries.

  • Social Media: At least 4 posts per month per ambassador, measured by impressions, & engagement (likes, shares, comments).

  • X Spaces / Online Events: Minimum of 1 per month per ambassador, measured by live attendance & replay views.

  • Community Impact: Quarterly comparison of regional community growth, partnerships initiated, and brand mentions.

  • New Stakers: Monthly growth targets per ambassador, benchmarked against DAO goals (e.g., 5–10 new stakers in active months).

Potential Risks and Mitigation

  • Low turnout at meetups: Mitigated through performance requirements and reporting.

  • Misrepresentation: Ambassadors must comply with a promotional code of conduct.

  • Operational bottlenecks: Managed via Foundation’s oversight and milestone validation.

Dependencies

  • Treasury disbursement of funds to the Foundation.

  • Foundation operational capacity to manage program.

  • Community agreement on promotional focus.

Funding Request

Total Funding: 9,000 USDRIF (not USDC) for a 3-month period.

Breakdown:

  • 3 ambassadors x 1,000 USDRIF (not USDC)/month x 3 months = 9,000 USDRIF (not USDC)

Disbursement Schedule:

  • Full amount sent upfront to the RootstockCollective Foundation.

  • Monthly payouts are managed by the Foundation.

Accountability and Reporting

  • Monthly meetup reports (photos, attendance, highlights).

  • Public posting of ambassador deliverables (X Spaces, posts).

  • On-chain proof of payouts.

  • Quarterly review of regional impact.

Contingency Planning

  • Ambassadors failing to meet requirements may be suspended.

  • Unused funds returned to the DAO.

  • Program may be paused/revised based on feedback.

Foundation Implementation Powers

Should this proposal pass, the RootstockCollective Foundation will be granted authority to:

  • Appoint/remove ambassadors in Japan, UAE, and Hong Kong or Singapore.

  • Validate promotional deliverables.

  • Manage disbursements.

  • Enforce ambassador code of conduct.

Is there any update on the previous proposal regarding the search for Collective Ambassadors in LATAM and Europe?

For the future plans for the Collective Ambassador program, are there any intentions to expand to additional regions, and if so, how many additional ambassadors are expected to be onboarded? Which specific areas or regions will the program focus on? Lastly, what criteria will be used to measure the success of the ambassadors when deciding whether to extend their period?

I’ll be posting this week an Ambassadors Report that will outline the progress of the first pilot programme. This will give us a clearer picture of how the second programme is developing and will help us determine whether to onboard additional ambassadors.

Our focus remains on expanding to regions with strong and active crypto ecosystems, where ambassadors can create meaningful impact and support the growth of the Collective.

When it comes to evaluating ambassadors, the key criteria will be based on whether they have fulfilled the responsibilities outlined in their role description, as well as the quality and consistency of their contributions. This includes their effectiveness in community engagement, representation of the Collective in their region, and the measurable results of their initiatives.

Further details on potential new regions and the number of additional ambassadors will follow once we’ve fully assessed the outcomes of the current programmes.
