Builder Activation Proposal for ASAMI Club
Builder Project Name: Asami.club
Submission Date: February 10, 2025
Sector: Social Media Advertising
Links: asami.club
Description
Asami is a social media club where members pay each other to repost content on X, enabling users from geographically remote communities to monetize their audience. This transforms influence into an international export.
Asami also provides an alternative advertising channel for projects in underserved markets, particularly DeFi and Web3, bypassing the red tape imposed by traditional ad networks.
Additionally, it serves as an onboarding tool for Web2 users into RSK and Web3, allowing them to earn DOC with minimal friction.
Everyone involved at this early stage earns equity through Asami tokens, with a fixed supply of 21 million tokens.
- The club collects a 10% fee from each reward, which is distributed to token holders every 15 days.
- The protocol even provides RBTC to cover transaction fees.
How Asami Compares
Alternative | Key Features | Limitations |
---|---|---|
Retweet Groups | Organic reposts, trusted relationships | Hard to discover, requires reciprocity instead of money |
Bot Farms | Cheap, scalable, supports multiple networks | No genuine users, artificial engagement |
Galxe, TaskOn | Supports multiple social networks & engagement types | Harder for genuine users to participate |
Strengths & Weaknesses
Strong Points
Crypto payments can be received by anyone worldwide.
Transparent & trustless—easier to detect and prevent abuse.
No censorship beyond X’s content policies.
Advertisers & collaborators earn ASAMI tokens, which share revenue.
Weak Points
Crypto-only payments pose an adoption hurdle.
Currently supports only reposts (no likes, follows, comments, etc.).
Only works on X (no multi-platform support yet).
Traction & Key Metrics (Since June 1, 2024)
Adoption & Engagement
- 5,000 collaborations by 195 X users, totaling 5,735 DOC across 122 campaigns from 17 unique advertisers.
- 58% of campaign spending was from Asami itself to promote the platform, but 42% came from third-party advertisers.
Financials
- 3,960 on-chain transactions processed, totaling ~0.05 RBTC in fees (~$700/month).
- 82 new wallets created, with users claiming gasless RBTC to fund transactions.
- 650 DOC collected in protocol fees and distributed to ASAMI token holders.
Marketing Strategy
Asami has avoided traditional marketing, instead:
Creating free campaigns for potential customers, demonstrating Asami’s value.
Keeping the club active, ensuring users continue earning rewards.
Goals if Activated as a Builder
If approved, we will:
Run advertising campaigns on third-party networks like X Ads, Galxe, and Google Ads.
Continue offering free trials for potential advertisers.
Provide sponsored campaigns to early-stage Web3 projects.
Establish a presence at Web3 conferences (secondary goal).
Allocate at least 60% of received funds to Asami campaigns—prioritizing Rootstock projects.
Expected Outcomes
More visibility & larger campaigns for the club.
Increased revenue-sharing for ASAMI token holders (potential appreciation).
More users onboarding to Rootstock, both new Web2 users and experienced Web3 users from other chains.
Economic integration of underserved communities through monetization.
More efficient advertiser spending, even compared to traditional channels.
Spending Plan & Growth Expectations
Our spending plan will adapt based on monthly rewards received. However, based on $6,500 spent on growth so far, we estimate:
For every $1,000 received:
30 new collaborators onboarded (13 from Web2).
2-3 new advertisers onboarded.
600 on-chain transactions processed, paying 0.0075 RBTC in fees (but we’re looking for ways to offset these costs, which may result in non-linear growth).
900 DOC paid out in rewards, generating 90 DOC in revenue-sharing.
Why Back Us?
40% Rootstock Collective backer reward.
We will distribute ASAMI tokens earned from these campaigns back to the community.
- Distribution will mirror the rules used by Rootstock Collective for backer rewards.
- We have confirmed this is technically feasible.
Who benefits from Builder rewards paid to Asami?
Existing club collaborators (earning more from larger campaigns).
Rootstock Collective backers (through ASAMI token rewards).
Web3 projects receiving free publicity.
Rootstock miners (increased transaction volume).
and by extension, Bitcoin itself.
Related Proposal: Campaign Manager Role
This proposal funds Asami’s growth, giving backers exposure to the protocol’s success.
We also have a separate proposal for funding the campaign manager role in Asami.
That proposal gives even greater exposure to the protocol’s growth, placing backers in the role of campaign manager.
