Wave IV Objectives

  • Encourage unique use cases that showcase Rootstock’s potential in financial and technical applications.

Submission Guidelines

Make sure your proposals meet the criteria outlined below:

  1. Building Natively on Rootstock: Projects must utilise Rootstock as their primary blockchain infrastructure.
  2. Preference for Past Rootstock Grant Recipients: Teams that have previously received Rootstock grants are encouraged to apply, showcasing ongoing commitment and contribution to the ecosystem.
  3. Integration of RIF and stRIF Tokens: Projects should incorporate RIF and stRIF tokens in their business models or value propositions.

Timeline

  • Application Period: Opens today, December 11th, 2024.
  • Judging Period: Begins immediately upon application and lasts 10 days.
  • Announcement of Grantees: January 1st, 2025.

Live voting will be accessible through the DAO DAPP for the duration of the judging period, allowing the community to actively monitor progress.

Tips for Success

To increase your project’s chances of securing a grant, consider these strategies:

  • Engage Your Network: Share your proposal on social media and other channels to rally support and raise awareness.
  • Appeal to Existing Stakers: Engage with RIF stakers within the DAO to align interests and gain their support during the voting process.

Key Highlights from Previous Waves

The Bitcoin Innovator Grants have been instrumental in driving groundbreaking projects such as:

  • Wesatoshis Labs: Revolutionising Bitcoin payments with SPV card technology. Wesatoshis Labs has continued to ship and recently launched an MVP on mainnet.
  • Boltz: Bridging Lightning and Rootstock for seamless transactions. Boltz has also gone live on mainnet.
  • Aconcagua Finance: Empowering SMBs in Latin America with crypto-collateralised loans. Aconcagua Finance has secured their first institutional lender and created the first collateralised loan on Rootstock for one Bitcoin.

Wave IV promises to be just as transformative, and we can’t wait to see the innovative ideas our community brings to the table.
