RC V13.1 Release Note

Summary

TL;DR: The Rootstock Collective Foundation is pleased to announce V13.1, a maintenance release that makes proposal submission feel instant, hardens wallet sign-in, and polishes the in-app support experience shipped in V13.0. Proposals you submit now appear in the list right away with a live status while the network confirms them, sign-in messages improvements are now added, and the Support button stays reachable even when the sidebar is collapsed. Community Benefits

  1. Instant feedback when you submit a proposal
After you submit a proposal, it now shows up immediately at the top of the proposals list with a temporary “confirming” and then “syncing” status while the transaction is processed on-chain. No more wondering whether your submission went through — the placeholder stays until your proposal appears in the feed, and clears automatically if the transaction fails or is replaced.

**

  1. Hardened wallet sign-in**

Sign-in with Ethereum (SIWE) messages are now bound to the domains RootstockCollective actually serves, following the EIP-4361 standard. This closes a class of phishing and host-spoofing attacks by ensuring a sign-in request can only be issued and redeemed against a trusted, official domain.

  1. Support always within reach
The Support button introduced in V13.0 now stays visible even when the desktop sidebar is collapsed, so help is one click away regardless of how you’ve arranged your workspace.

**
4. Reliability and quality improvements**
Stale error messages that could linger on data tables are now cleared as soon as the underlying issue resolves, and the contract read-hooks powering Collective Rewards were refactored for consistency and maintainability. These changes keep the dApp accurate and resilient behind the scenes.

Comments on RootstockCollective dApp v13.1

Version 13.1 is a maintenance update that, in addition to fixing reported issues, introduces improvements that directly impact the user experience. Among the most relevant changes, I would highlight the immediate feedback when submitting governance proposals, the enhanced login via SIWE and EIP-4361, the improved accessibility of the support button, and the improved background reliability.

From my experience using and testing applications within the Rootstock ecosystem, I find it particularly positive that RootstockCollective maintains a process of continuous improvement. It’s not just about fixing bugs, but also about paying attention to small UX details that make a dApp more intuitive and easier to use. In my opinion, the RootstockCollective interface has a very user-friendly learning curve, even for users without an advanced technical background.

I also consider the enhanced authentication process to be very important. In a Web3 environment, where phishing and domain spoofing pose real risks, properly linking SIWE messages to domains managed by RootstockCollective adds an extra layer of trust.

As a suggestion, we believe it would be beneficial to further develop visual feedback during governance processes, especially for new users. Clearly showing what is happening with a proposal from the moment it is sent until its final confirmation could further reduce uncertainty and improve the user experience.

I also believe it is important to pay close attention to the evolution of cybersecurity threats. We are currently seeing phishing, social engineering, and spoofing attacks becoming increasingly prevalent thanks to the use of AI tools. Therefore, in addition to technically strengthening authentication, it would be beneficial to continue incorporating prevention and education mechanisms that help users identify suspicious requests, fake domains, or spoofing attempts.

Overall, I particularly appreciate that the product continues to evolve steadily and that updates focus not only on new features but also on security, stability, accessibility, and user experience. This continuous improvement is essential for a governance dApp to be used by an ever-growing community.
