Building rootstock collective community of developers and users in Ghana

Hey @Oluman ,
I think we came a long way since the first version of this.
I think the values requested, actions, and KPIs are now pointing in the right direction.

I’d be ready to support milestone 1.

One thing I’d like to add. You’ll have to work hard and be diligent in delivering the KPIs you proposed in each milestone, as clearly each milestone delivery is what enables the next one. (e.g. if you don’t deliver a solid result on M1, it’ll be hard to succeed supporting 5 mini-project ideas on M2; if you don’t deliver a solid M2, it’ll be hard to launch 2 pilot projects and form 2-3 partnerships on M3). Therefore, I congratulate your drive and hope this project succeeds.

Echoing @ChronoTrigger’s points, it’s great to see the milestones updated to a level where we’re comfortable supporting the proposal, while we encourage you to diligently deliver each milestone target before asking for the grant of its next milestone. Looking forward to continuing working with you!

As I said earlier,we are overwhelmed by the massive endorsement of our proposal and would be diligent with the resources once approved and follow through to our KPIs as we aimed at building a thriving ROOTSTOCKCOLLECTIVE GHANA.

@Oluman We unfortunately missed the vote but are happy to see the proposal succeed  Appreciate you listening to the feedback and requests of delegates to slim down the scope and budget. Very much looking forward to seeing the assets that you produce for Milestone 1! Make sure to take lots of photos during your events. Wishing you all the best with your deliverables! :flexed_biceps:

Hey @Oluman , congrats on the approval of the proposal. It’s clear that you iterated based on community feedback, which is always a good sign. I wanted to clarify a couple of points before the work begins:

I see the plan includes three meetups, one in Accra, one in Kumasi, and one in Tamale, but it’s not fully clear whether these locations are already confirmed or still tentative. Could you clarify if each city is secured as a venue and whether you’ve already identified the specific spaces?

Regarding the content of the workshops and training sessions, have you defined the structure or modules? In this area, connecting with QuestHub could be a good idea, for use their structured learning paths.

There are also some relevant learnings from other recent Rootstock proposals.
For example, in the Rootstock Ecosystem Roadshow, a challenge was how to measure attendance and interactions in a verifiable way. POAP doesn’t support Rootstock at the moment, but it would be interesting to explore in the future. In the meantime, starting with a simple NFT on Rootstock as a proof of attendance could work well. At the Collective level, we should probably think about a shared standard for tracking this type of educational activity.

Another useful reference is Bitcoin Argentina, where strong social-media presence and documentation were key to demonstrating impact. Do you already have an X/Twitter account for Rootstock Ghana? That would help a lot with visibility and credibility. It might also be helpful to connect with the Rootstock Ambassadors, who are already active in other regions and could support with best practices.

Overall, the initiative is moving in a good direction; now it will be important to observe the execution of the upcoming milestones. Looking forward to the updates.

Thank you @404Gov , @Kaf_Anode and all for the warm messages and guidance — truly appreciated.
Following the community feedback during the voting stage, we realigned and reduced the events from three to two to keep the scope tight and ensure high-quality delivery.
Event Update
We are now proceeding with two confirmed meetups — both taking place in Kumasi.

Primary venue: Garden City University, Ghana Open Lab Academy.

The full details will be shared in our Milestone 1 update.

Accra and Tamale were removed as part of the adjustments made in response to community sentiments and budget considerations.

An updated proposal will be submitted on Discourse soon to formally reflect these changes.
Workshop Structure
We have finalized the training modules, focused on:

Introduction to Rootstock

Hands-on wallet onboarding

RIF tools and Rootstock-based dApps

Developer pathways and smart-contract fundamentals

We are also exploring alignment with QuestHub to enhance structure and learning flow.
Attendance Verification & Documentation
Building on learnings from previous Rootstock initiatives:

We will issue a simple NFT on Rootstock as proof of attendance until POAP support becomes available.

Documentation (photos, short videos, summaries) will be a key priority for transparency and credibility.

Visibility & Social Media
We are currently working on our new Rootstock Ghana Twitter/X page, which will serve as the central hub for updates, event coverage, and ecosystem engagement.
We also intend to connect with Rootstock Ambassadors to adopt best practices from other regions.

Thank you once again for the support and thoughtful guidance. We look forward to delivering impactful progress as Milestone 1 begins.

@Ignas @ChronoTrigger Thanks for pointing this out the slides used during our two recent meetups sessions in Ghana, basically we discussed the web3 environment here in Ghana, what ROOTSTOCK stands for and for buiders, our mission for Ghana community — I agree that sharing the slides helps with transparency and feedback. I’ve shared link of a PDF version of the slides used in the session for everyone’s reference here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EzLLaGfh3UDwO1DMaTchyEb-7wWyQ3yj/view?usp=drive_link
Happy to receive any insights ahead of the next milestone.

Hello @Oluman , thank you so much for providing the link to the slides. However, can you change the Google Drive Share level to “public”? Thank you!

Thank you, @Oluman for posting the complete milestone and deliverables list. Do you have date scheduled (and locations) yet for your Milestone 2 deliverable for hosting the 2-3 Workshops events, as per your Milestone list here:

(source: Building rootstock collective community of developers and users in Ghana - #20 by Oluman) Thank you!

Thanks for the update, Oluman, and congratulations on a successful Phase 1! As you move into Milestone 2, it would be helpful to know what specific KPIs you are setting for the bootcamp’s success, such as the number of active builders onboarded or expected testnet deployments and any quantifiable metrics.

Hi @Oluman. Thank you for the Milestone 1 update and for the effort in organizing two in-person sessions. It is positive to see physical activation taking place.

However, after reviewing the original Milestone 1 KPIs and the materials provided, I have significant concerns regarding measurable delivery.

Milestone 1 committed to:
• Onboarding 150+ members
• Publishing 5 educational posts
• Training 30 users on Rootstock basics
• Hosting 2 sessions

While the two sessions appear to have occurred (based on photo documentation), the remaining KPIs are not verifiably demonstrated. Registrations are not equivalent to onboarding, and there is currently no clear definition or proof of what “onboarded” means in this context (wallet creation, Rootstock transaction, community retention, etc.).

Additionally, there is no clearly enumerated list of the 5 educational posts, nor evidence of 30 trained participants with measurable outcomes (completion criteria, assignments, wallet actions, or onchain activity).

From an ecosystem perspective, the outputs so far are largely narrative and photographic (no videos). There is limited evidence of Rootstock-native activation, developer output, reusable training assets, or measurable conversion metrics.

Before considering progression to Milestone 2, I believe the community should require:

  1. A consolidated Milestone 1 KPI table (target vs achieved).

  2. A complete public asset list (posts, slides, event pages, media).

  3. A clear definition and proof of onboarding metrics.

  4. Basic budget reconciliation for the $1,800 executed.

Without these, it is difficult to assess ROI or justify continued funding.

At this stage, my position is that further milestone payments should be paused unless a materially higher standard of measurable delivery is demonstrated.

Hey Oluman,

I believe this is just an AI generated list of topics to cover.
Do you have the actual presentation that was made in the events?

Subject: Rootstock Ghana: Moving to Milestone 2 – Bootcamp with Hackerboost

Hello Rootstock Community!

We’re thrilled to share our progress in building the Rootstock ecosystem in Ghana.

Milestone 1:

  • Hosted two in-person meetups with developers and enthusiasts.

  • Introduced Rootstock, Web3 tools, and DAO opportunities.

-Built the foundation for an active local community.

Milestone 2 – Bootcamp with Hackerboost:

Next up is a 2-day developer bootcamp in Tamale (April,23,24, 2026) with Hackerboost.

Hands-on training on smart contracts, RWA design, and DAO-powered apps.

Onboarding new members, strengthening collaboration, and accelerating Rootstock adoption in Ghana.

We’d love your feedback, ideas, and support as we take this next step together. Let’s grow the Rootstock community in Ghana!

Oluman,

Rootstock Community, Ghana

Hello @Oluman ,

Thank you for the update regarding the dates for the bootcamp, however, we strongly echo all of @Kaf_Anode comments above, as what you have provided as proof of completion for all the Milestone 1 deliverables , we agree that it’s hard to verify that you have completed them.

We support Anode’s comments regarding that before you progress further with Milestone 2 deliverables (including holding the bootcamp in April), that you provide what Anode is recommending here:

Hey Oluman,

Can you clarify this?

It seems many of the replies given here are AI generated, which raises questions of actual involvement and capacity to deliver.

Lastly, HackerBoost seems like a serious and active team in Africa.
That said, the bootcamp late April is almost two months from now.
What’s the strategy from now till then. Are there further initiatives to engage more interested participants and increase engagement for the bootcamp? Are there any strategy to nurture and maintain interest of those present in the first events?

Thanks for sharing the slides. But they appear quite minimal for what seems to have been a full presentation. I expected a bit more substance and basic information to better reflect the session content.

Echoing some of the other delegates here, it would be helpful to have additional evidence beyond just images, links to educational posts (as committed in the KPIs) or other metrics that demonstrate the outreach and engagement around these meetups.

With the current information provided, I’m not yet in a position to support M2
